Tomasz Rubaj:
Flies Boeing 737s for PLL LOT. As a member of the Polish National Gliding Team, he has participated in the World and European Championships. He has won the Polish Gliding Championship in open and standard class several times, as well as finishing as Vice Champion on several other occasions. In 2005 in the Beskid International Soaring Competition, he finished in third place. He is a member of the Gliwice Flying Club. He has flown over 6300 hours on aeroplanes and 3100 hours on gliders.
Dariusz Zawłocki:
Captain, flies Embraer 145s for PLL LOT. He is a member of the Polish National Flying Team and represents Poland in rally flying competitions. He has won three medals in the World and European championships. In the 2005 European Rally Flying Championships, he won a gold medal in a team competition with his co-pilot Michał Bartler. In addition, he took home a bronze medal individually. He is a member of the Gliwice Flying Club. He has over 5500 hours’ flying experience.
Janusz Centka:
Captain and flight instructor – flies Boeing 767s for PLL LOT. Member of the Polish National Gliding Team and a triple World Champion. Flies gliders in the open and fifteen meter class. At the World and European Championships, he has won 8 medals altogether including three gold, two silver and three bronze medals. He has established many world and Polish records. In 2005, he was awarded the Lilienthal Medal for his contribution to soaring and the many other remarkable aviation achievements. This is the highest soaring award in the world. He is the seventh Polish recipient in the history of this award. In the same year, flying the Polish-built Diana 2 glider, he finished second in the European Championship. Janusz Centka is a member of the Leszno Flying Club. He has flown over 15000 hours on aeroplanes and 6200 hours on gliders.
Witold Filus:
Flies Embraer 145s for PLL LOT. He is also a well-known hot air balloon pilot who has represented Poland at the World and European Championships as well as the 1st and 2nd World Air Games. In the Hot Air Balloon European Cup, he won a silver medal and two bronze medals. He has won the Polish Championship three times and the Polish Cup five times. He was the first to fly over the Tatra Mountains in a hot air balloon in winter. In 2005, he grabbed his fifth Polish Hot Air Balloon Cup. He is a member of the Silesian Flying Club and he has flown over 6000 hours on aeroplanes and 700 hours on gliders.
Wacław Wieczorek:
Captain and flight instructor, flies Boeing 737s for PLL LOT. He is a member of the Polish National Flying Team and represents Poland in precision and rally flying competitions. At the World Championships, European Championships and World Air Games he has won 17 medals, including 8 gold, 5 silver and 4 bronze medals. He is a three-time Polish Champion. In the 2005 European Rally Flying Championships, he won the gold medal together with his son. He is a member of the Kraków Flying Club. He has flown over 7500 hours on airplanes.
Krzysztof Wieczorek:
Captain, flies Embraer 145s for PLL LOT. He is a member of the Polish National Flying Team and represents Poland in precision and rally flying competitions. At the World Championships, European Championships and World Air Games he has won 14 medals, including 7 gold, 5 silver and 2 bronze medals. He is the current World Champion and European Champion in precision flying. In addition, he is a six-time runner-up in the Polish Championships. He is a member of the Kraków Flying Club. He has flown over 5000 hours on airplanes.
Andrzej Osowski:
Flies Embraer 145s for PLL LOT. He has been the coach of the Polish National Flying Team for 21 years. Under his command, Polish pilots have won 61 gold, 33 silver and 22 bronze medals at the World Air games, World Championships and European Championships. Andrzej Osowski was the first Pole to become the President of the Jury and Chief Judge during the World Championships. Over the past 21 years, he has organized and operated 201 events as part of Polish senior and junior championships and other national competitions. He is a member of the Częstochowa Flying Club and a member of the Management Board of the Aero Club of Poland. As an airline pilot, he has flown over 6000 hours.
Stanisław Wujczak:
Captain, flies Boeing 767s for PLL LOT. He has represented Poland in the World and European Gliding Championships and World Air Games. Several times, he has been a runner up in the European Gliding Championships in the Open and 18 meter class. He once again finished second in the Polish Championships this past year. For many years has been actively engaged in the development of soaring in Poland and has served as a teacher for subsequent generations of young glider pilots. He is a member of the Leszno Flying Club. He has flown over 15000 hours on aeroplanes and 5000 hours on gliders.
Jerzy Makula:
Captain, flies Boeing 767s for PLL LOT. He is a one of the world’s leading glider aerobatic pilots. His accomplishments include having won the World Championship six times, the European Championship twice and the Polish Championship twelve times. Throughout over 23 years of his career as a competitive glider aerobatic pilot, he has never finished below second place. In the 2005 World Championships, he was the runner-up. For his remarkable achievements and outstanding contribution to the popularization of aviation sports, he was awarded the FAI Centenary Medal. So far, only eighteen people have received this meritorious award. Jerzy Makula is a member of the Rybnik Flying Club. He has flown over 14000 hours on aeroplanes and over 3500 hours on gliders.
Jacek Dankowski:
Captain and flight instructor – flies Embraer 145s for PLL LOT. Since 1994, he has been the coach of the Polish Gliding Team. During this time, Polish pilots participating in the World Championships, European Championships and World Air Games have won 25 medals altogether. This includes 8 gold, 7 silver and 10 bronze medals. In 2003, he was the organizer and Director of the World Gliding Championships held at Leszno. He is a member of the Leszno Flying Club. He has flown over 6300 hours on aeroplanes and 2210 on gliders.
