LOT Cargo

The first direct freighter connection between Poland and North America

Warsaw, 21st October 2009 - LOT Polish Airlines in cooperation with CARGOJET, Canadian all-cargo airline, is planning to open the first direct freighter connection between Poland and North America.

Cargojet is Canada’s leading provider of time sensitive overnight air cargo services, and it offers over 14 000 routes annually. Thanks to its wide range, flexibility and fast delivery, it is considered the best Canadian freighter.

The flights from Toronto to Katowice and back are scheduled once a week beginning from 7 November 2009 and they will be operated by Boeing 767-200 Extended Range Freighter.

The plane can take up to 45 tons of goods and it will dramatically increase the capacity and ability to carry oversized cargo on transatlantic routes from Poland.

In Poland the plane will depart from Katowice – Pyrzowice Airport. The airport is situated in the Upper Silesian Industrial Region, which is one of the most industrialized areas in this part of Europe and gathers many international companies.

We believe, that because of the location of the airport and LOT’s wide network of scheduled flights and RFS in Europe, our all cargo flights will be considered competitive to such services from airports in Czech Republic, Slovakia and Austria.

The cooperation with Cargojet also includes delivery of cargo to other destination ports in Canada. If the destination point is outside Canada LOT Polish Airlines has many interline agreements which enable the goods to be flown or trucked to any city within the USA as well as Central and South America.
