Challenges still awaiting LOT in 2008

The Management Board of LOT Polish Airlines has announced the goals to be reached by the end of 2008. These include an increased effectiveness of commercial activities, development of a more attractive product offer and improved operational reliability all of which relate to the company’s flotation plans.
”The key element of our business activities is a multi-level increase in the quality of the services we provide to our customers, to be achieved through development of the range of our services. An important thing is to make the most of our position in Star Alliance, thus increasing the international significance of the Warsaw airport,” said Dariusz Nowak, President of the Management Board and CEO of LOT Polish Airlines.
LOT Polish Airlines' main business goals for 2008:
• Dialogue with trade unions – to work out an economically realistic consensus regarding the new Collective Labour Agreement;
• Centralwings – to develop charter and charter-mix flights and to offer more point-to-point flights;
• Attractiveness of the service offer – modernization of revenue management, further development of online sales and a more attractive customer loyalty programme;
• Star Alliance – to create a transit airport at Warsaw and increase the number of direct flights from all regional airports thanks to the membership in the airline alliance. Development of a transit airports in Warsaw in cooperation with PPL Okęcie;
• Operational Effectiveness – to improve effectiveness by means of an enhanced system of customer relations management;
„I am sure that systematic introduction of improvements and innovations will find its reflection in the number of passengers who choose LOT Polish Airlines as their preferred carrier. In comparison with the same period of the previous year there is a marked increase in the number of passengers on our flights to and from Poland,” added Dariusz Nowak.
The PLL LOT Group, being well aware of the challenges ahead, is intensively working on a a new business plan and improved operational efficiency which are a prerequisite for the planned flotation.
