One of our fundamental beliefs is that all of our passengers should receive equal treatment throughout the whole length of their journey with us. For all of our passengers with disabilities we ensure high quality assistance at our airports and onboard our aircraft.

If you are traveling on board of ATR-42 or ATR-72 aircraft, some restrictions may apply as to the services offered. We recommend contacting our Call Center to determine the exact services being offered by our partners.

At the airport

If you require a wheelchair or other mobility assistance to help you through the airport, please request one during the booking and purchasing of your tickets or anytime afterwards. To insure that this service can be provided at highest quality please inform us of your need for assistance no later than 48 hours before departure time.

Traveling with your own wheelchair

If you are planning to travel in your own wheelchair or with other mobility aid, we ask that you inform us of your intent during the booking and purchasing of your tickets or anytime afterwards. Due to organizational requirements please inform us of your plans of traveling with your own mobility aid no later than 48 hours before departure time. We need this information to make the necessary arrangements to help you make the most of your journey.

From January 13th, 2014 passengers travelling from/to United States are able to take their wheelchair onboard our aircraft. However, being limited with available space, only one wheelchair is allowed to take onboard.
During LOT’s B787 flights from/to United States wheelchairs are to be stored in special lockers with appropriate designation assigned for transportation of disability equipment. If dimensions exceed the available space limitations, the wheelchair will be carried in the hold free of charge.

During check in your private wheelchair will be transferred over to airport personnel before being placed in the airplane's baggage compartment. It will be returned to you upon arrival at the destination airport. Our airport staff will transport you from check in to the aircraft in another wheelchair.

For your travel convenience please inform us about the size and weight of your wheelchair. This will enable us to secure adequate space for your wheelchair in the aircraft's baggage compartment.

This will help to provide proper space in order to Carry the wheelchair in both cabin and hold.

Up to two mobility aids will be carried free of charge.

If you own a battery-powered wheelchair it might require and additional protection before it can be transported in the baggage compartment. For further information please contact our staff at the airport.

Onboard the aircraft

All of our aircraft are adapted to accommodate passengers with limited mobility. We always strive to ensure the maximum level of comfort. Our cabin crew is at hand to assist you throughout your flight.

On all of our long haul flights (to and from the USA and Canada, onboard the aircraft Boeing 787) we have wheelchairs that can be used by you to move about the passenger cabin.

All of our aircraft have a number of seats with lifting armrests for ease of access. We shall ensure availability of these seats for you during the flight.

All of our aircraft have adapted toilets with handrails to assist passengers with limited mobility.

If you require assistance in lifting yourself from your seat and into a wheelchair and are not traveling with a companion, our cabin crew will help you on your way to/from the lavatories. However we regret to inform you that cabin crew is not permitted to lift and carry passengers to/from the wheelchair or provide assistance in the lavatory.

Our ground personnel will offer assistance during check in and will escort you from check in to the aircraft and upon landing from the aircraft to the arrivals hall of your destination airport.

PAssistant dogs for blind, deaf or disabled individuals travel in the passenger cabin of all LOT Polish Airline planes free of charge.
