From 30 August until 21 September 2014, 24 teams from all over the world will compete for medals at the volleyball world cup – there will be 103 games in 7 cities. Go and see the most important games in Warsaw, Cracow, Katowice, Gdansk, Wroclaw, Lodz, and Bydgoszcz!

Warsaw invites all volleyball fans to see the most important event in the sports calendar for 2014! On 30 August, you will watch the coolest opening ceremony of the 18th Men’s Volleyball World Championship. On the same day, you will have the opportunity to watch the opening game between Poland and Serbia at the National Stadium. Visit Poland’s capital, discover its unique character and history, and experience its offbeat locations.

Lodz is a city that loves volleyball! Come and support the best players during games of the second and third group stages that will be played in the Atlas Arena, one of the most modern exhibition-sports halls in Europe. Lodz also offers numerous festivals, reviews, and exhibitions, while its multicultural roots and interesting industrial architecture are just some of the reasons why you should not miss out on visiting this place.

Wroclaw, the capital of Lower Silesia, will host the first and the second stage of the championship. Feel sports emotions in the Centennial Hall designed by the outstanding architect, Max Berg, considered one of the greatest works of 20th century architecture. Starting from 30 August, the fan zone will be opened next to the Hall where you can join an unforgettable volleyball picnic! Do not miss the streets of the Old Town full of galleries, cafes, restaurants, and interesting artistic events.

Katowice – you can watch the fascinating games of the semi-finals and the final game of the championship in the most distinguishable and interesting from the architectural point of view place - the ‘Saucer’ of Katowice. While visiting the city, you should stroll down the popular Mariacki promenade where you can take photos and be part of numerous artistic-cultural events.

Cracow – come and visit the artistic capital of Poland and fall in love with its atmosphere strolling around the Old Town and the Kazimierz district. In the Sukiennice on the Main Market you can buy traditional souvenirs, regional specialities and you will be charmed by its unique architecture. All quarter-final games will be played at the Kraków Arena – this is where the laureates will be selected, and real sports emotions are guaranteed!

Bydgoszcz, sometimes called the Venice of the North, is one of the host cities of the volleyball championship. You can watch all matches in the exceptional exhibition-sports hall of ‘Łucznik’ located in the very centre of the city. When visiting Bydgoszcz, take the opportunity to visit the picturesque Wyspa Młyńska island offering, apart from its natural beauty, attractions such as the Modern Art Gallery, Archaeology Museum and European Centre of Finance.

Gdansk – the state of the art Ergo Arena – the modern sports-exhibition hall where you can watch more struggles during the volleyball championship, is situated between the 1,000 year old Gdansk and the Art Nouveau buildings and villas of the Baltic Sea resort of Sopot. After sports emotions, you can relax strolling around the wide beaches with an attractive entertainment complex, with the Sopot pier being its focal point. You should also dive into charming spots of Gdansk – the city that never sleeps.
