Chopin Airport in Warsaw
It is currently the most modern and the largest airport in Poland. It also has the longest runway, making it able to accommodate even very large aircrafts. The airport was opened in 1934 as a military and civilian airport. Currently, nearly half of the passenger traffic is handled by the Chopin Warsaw airport. Higher passenger comfort provides opened in March 2008, the new Terminal. It allowed to increase the capacity of the entire airport, as well as improved comfort of passengers. Convenience for passengers is provided by the large number of the check-in desks. Additionally, in the departure hall there are located self check-in desks. In January 2015, the airport was awarded as the best in Poland by the Traveler Poland magazine. It was the second such award for the Warsaw airport.
Thanks to many amenities for disabled people, in October 2015, it has been also awarded by the Integration Foundation as the "Facility without barriers" - the first of its kind in Poland.

Chopin Airport is situated 10 kilometers southwest from the city center, at Wigury 1. Street. Warsaw Chopin Airport offers 3,700 parking spaces on four parking lots. Parking directly in front of Terminal is prohibited, except for a short stop - for example during unloading luggage from the car. On the roads leading to the airport, both at the level of departures and arrivals, there is a free temporary parking place for cars of disabled people. In front of Terminal 2 there are short-term multi-level car parks P1 and P2, recommended primarily to people who only give a lift for passengers. At the multi-storey car parks P1 and P2 there are also special parking places for cars of disabled people. Parking P3 which is paid hourly and parking P4 for longer stays are on the right side of the Courtyard by Marriott.
Taxi rank is located opposite the arrivals hall. Chopin Airport recommends three taxi companies that offer transport services, including Ele Taxi, Super Taxi and Sawa Taxi.
It is possible to get to the Chopin Airport from Warsaw by 5 public bus lines. Those lines connect the airport with the major districts of Warsaw and pass through the most important hubs of the city. Lines 148, 175, 188, 331 and night line N32 run every day from early morning till late evening. Night line provides a connection throughout the whole night. There are also services of buses that connect the airport with the further destinations. Terminal for buses is located at the southern pier at the arrivals level. It has 21 terminals, a waiting area for passengers is covered.
The railway connection is the best way to reach Chopin Airport. A single journey from the center of Warsaw takes 20-25 min. The railway station is located in the south pier, next to the bus terminal. Rail transport is supported by two operators - SKM and Mazovian Railways. People who want to get into the city center can take two lines S2 and S3 - both station Central Station and Downtown are in the center (the stations are located about 200 meters from each other). People who are planning to change the train for a long-distance one can take line S3, which stops directly at the Main Station (Warsaw Central). Tickets can be purchased at the passengers Service Point in the arrivals hall, in the vending machines located at bus stops and at the entrance to the railway station.
