Wilanow Palace is a very unique place on the map Polish monuments. It is also one of the few monuments, which almost in its original form survived the annexation and the two world wars. Wilanow became the property of King John III Sobieski in the 70s of the seventeenth century. Initially, the king ordered to build there only a modest suburban residence. However, after the successes of the international arena Jan III Sobieski decided to transform the mansion in Wilanow into a beautiful palace. The palace and park in Wilanow was opened to the public in 1962. In 1994, along with the Morysin park it was inscribed as a historical monument. The museum covers a great number of exhibits, collected at the beginning of the nineteenth century, by Stanislaw Kostka Potocki.

Transfer to the Airport
Warsaw Chopin Airport is located at Okecie district, which is very close to the center. From the Central Station at Okecie it is possible to reach the airport (and the other way around) approximately in 15 minutes. Of course this happens when we do not stand in a traffic. Travelers should only remember not to get on the tram which goes to "Okecie", as in this case, means that it gets us to "Okecie" loop which is situated at the airfield, but a few kilometers away from the terminal.
The airport is communicated to the city with a few lines of public transport organized by the Public Transport Authority. In the vicinity of the terminal there is an underground railway station Warsaw Chopin Airport. You can take the trains S2, S3 and RL. At the airport there are also four bus lines, both day and night lines. Buses arriving to the airport stop at the upper level of the terminal (at the departure hall) and the coaches terminal. Buses departing from the airport pick up passengers from the lower level of the terminal (at the arrival hall) and the bus terminal for the coaches. Getting on the bus on the upper level (at the departure hall) to leave the airport is not allowed.
