The Old Town
Very charming in Ljubljana is the old town, dominated by the castle placed on a hill. There you can go by a special train and read a book in the courtyard (in summer there is a reading room in the open air) or to see the permanent exhibition on the history of Slovenia and visit the beautiful chapel of St. George, whose history dates back to the formation of the Gothic and ends at the baroque. The most beautiful place in the Old Town is the Triple Bridge, where three bridges are crossing the river Ljubljanica. The bridges link charming streets with a large square on the other side. The first stone is the oldest - built in 1842. The other two were built in 1931. It is a very charming, especially at night when it is specifically highlighted a riot of multi coloured lights.
The most famous of the three is the Dragon Bridge, built in 1848. Legend has it that placed on the bridge sculptures of dragons move their tails every time when the bridge goes virgin.

Transfer from Ljubljana Airport

The airport is located 26 km north from the centre of Ljubljana and 11 km south of Kranj. From the centre of Ljubljana, the most convenient access to the airport is to use the motorway E61 in the direction of Brnik. From the airport, very convenient to use public transport, in this case the bus. The bus stop is in front of the airport. From the airport to the city centre you can get a bus service, every 60 minutes on all days of the week. Journey time is approximately 45 minutes. The city centre can be reached also by using the services of private transport companies. Journey time is 30 minutes, the ticket is bought from the driver. There are no trains, if you want to use transport by train you have to get to Kranj. There you will find many of rail.
Other means of transport
Definitely the fastest way of getting to the city centre is the use of a taxi. A taxi rank is located in front of the airport and journey to the Ljubljana should take you about 30 minutes. But you must be prepared that the price of taxis will be much higher than prices of public transport. Airport allows car rental too. The Car Rental companies are located in the arrivals hall.
