Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv is located in central Israel, 15 km south-east of Tel Aviv and about 50 kilometres from Jerusalem and it is the largest airport of the country. The Airport handles both domestic and international flights. The airport is currently named in honour of the first Prime Minister of Israel, David Ben-Gurion. Ben Gurion Airport is one of the most strictly controlled in the world: the vehicles are checked before entering to the area surrounding the airport, in terminals are checkpoints and all port is patrolled whole day. The airport has four terminals. It features two passenger terminals (T1 and T3). Between terminals A goes free shuttle bus.

Israel has a very convenient and affordable public transport system with a lot of possibilities of getting to the city centre. One of them is the train. At Terminal 3 is a railway station, trains run to the Tel Aviv Central Train Station every 20 minutes during the day and every hour in the late hours of the night. The journey takes about 20 minutes.
The second possibility are buses. The bus stop is located on the second floor near the exit 21 and 23.
Public buses operated by Egged Company stop at a small bus station in Airport City and commute to the airport. Available to passengers are buses 249, 423, 475, 930, 943, 947 and 950. The line number 5 carries passengers between the airport and the Airport City. Departures and arrival of buses are held at regular and frequent intervals throughout the day.
Taxi or car
Taxi stands are located in Terminal 3, on the ground floor (level G). There are also private taxis (called "special") and group taxi transport.
It is recommended to use only licensed companies transport and ordering a taxi through dispatchers, instead of traveling cars that do not have a license. If you would like to use a taxi, you have to be prepared for a higher cost than using public transport.
