The Airport overview
Narita International Airport was opened in 1978, after nearly twelve years of construction. The airport is away from the centre of Tokyo about 65 km. For twenty four years of operation the port was called the New Tokyo International Airport. It is called like this up to today, although in 2004 it was officially named Tokyo-Narita Airport. The airport has two huge, really modern terminals, each has a separate railway station.
Between terminals you can commute by both the shuttle bus and trains.
Available to passengers remain a lot of restaurants, ATMs, post office, pharmacy, rooms for mothers with a child, cafes, shops, luggage storage, laundry service. Travelers can use the services of a dentist, a medical clinic, a barber. There are also changing rooms, showers, rooms with beds and a room with massage chairs. Train is the preferred means of transport from airport to Tokyo city centre. Each terminal has its own train stations from which you can go to both Tokyo and to the biggest cities in Japan. Along the way there are 4 stops, one in front of each terminal, and directly next to railway station. The train ride is the cheapest option transport from and to the airport.
There are also buses. It is also a relatively inexpensive way to travel to the Japanese capital and other cities in the region. Transfer to Tokyo takes 60 minutes. But the trip may be extended up to 30 minutes due to significant traffic or for reasons of unfavourable weather conditions.

Access by car
Available to passengers are licensed taxis, limousines, trains and buses. The airport is located at Shin-kulo Expressway leading to the road 295 which takes you to Tokyo and most nearby cities. A taxi rank is located in front of the airport. Airport taxis have fixed prices for the course to different parts of the city. You must know that this is not a recommended means of transport, because of the high cost and traffic on the roads.
At the airport parking lots are long and short term. In the car park P1 in front of Terminal 1, there are about 1,000 parking spaces. P2 parking has about 1,300 parking spaces and is located at Terminal 2.
