Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport is the largest airport in France. It is served by regular and low cost airlines. Airport CGD is one of the largest airports in the world, the second biggest airport in Europe in terms of number of passengers, and fourteenth in the world. It handles nearly 60 million passengers every year. Airport is located 23 kilometres away from Paris, in the north-eastern part of the agglomeration, in Roissy-en-France. The area of the airport covers 3200 hectares and is almost as big as 1/3 of Paris within the inner ring road called Boulevard Péripherique. In the port area there is 125 kilometres of roads and 5 hotels with a total of 1,700 beds. Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport has 3 terminal (T-1, T-2, T-3). Each of the terminals is divided into smaller with the next letter of the alphabet.
How to reach the airport
There are many possible ways to reach the airport. It is located 23 km from Paris and connected to the city by the A1 motorway. To get from the airport to the city center you need about 30 minutes. Airport also enables to use a taxi transport. Taxi ranks are located at Terminal 1 at the exit 20, for terminals 2A and 2C at the exit 6, for the terminal 2B and 2D at the exit 7, for terminals 2E and 2F at the exit 1. The cost of getting to the center of Paris is about 50 euros and it takes about 45 minutes.
On each terminal there are located Roissy bus stops. These buses run between the three terminals and Rue Scribe near Opéra Garnier in Paris from 6:00 - 22:30. The journey from the airport to the center takes about 45 minutes. One way ticket costs 9 euro. From the center of Paris we can also get to the airport by RER train. The journey takes around 35 minutes and trains run every 15 minutes. Ticket price depends on the length of the journey.
