Getting to the city center
Main train station in Hamburg can be reached from the Hamburg Airport easily and quite inexpensive by the suburban train S-Bahn or buses. Other way is by express line bus "Airport Express" number 110, by standard buses 26, 39, 172, 292 or night line 606 and the trip takes about 20-40 minutes depending on traffic and number of stops.
There are also more expensive means of transportation like taxi or rented car. For the taxi there is taxi stop by the terminals exits. It takes about 30 minutes to get to the city and might be around 20 Euro but it will assure easy access to the chosen accommodation. For the rented car it is best to have a map but the way to Hamburg is well marked.
