Ljubljana is a beautiful old town, which offers you many attractions, places to visit and outstanding old buildings. After booking your flight to Ljubljana you should carefully plan your trip.
Ljublijana Old Town
"Lovely Ljubljana", as the locals call it, is the charming capital of Slovenia.
The Old Town is very pedestrian-friendly. The Ljubljana River flows through it and its banks are quite picturesque. The river and its bridges, divides the Old Town from the more modern commercial center, and its banks are lined with outdoor cafes. The Dragon bridge is particularly worthy of visiting, with its sculptures of four large dragons. The entrance to the parliament building is worth seeing as well. It is covered with dozens of statues of naked men, women and children and represents all the people of Slovenia. They say "We came into this world naked and we will leave it naked, therefore all people are equal." No matter what busy city you are, enjoy cheap flights to Ljubljana with LOT Polish Airlines.
Preseren Square and Triple Bridge
All kinds of attractions are happening in this cozy square. It's the main one in the city. This is a great place to start Ljubljana sightseeing tour from the old town. In the square there are always local entertainers, the beautiful Franciscan church, the river and the famous three bridges.
The Triple Bridge is a particularly interesting architectural construction. It's a group of three bridges that links the historical part of Ljubljana to the modern part of the city on the opposite side of the River. The river gives you a feeling of peacefulness and by the river, on both sides there are a lot of coffee shops and restaurants.
Ljubliana Castle and River Ljubliana Kanal
Ljubljana Castle may not be considered the most impressive castle in Europe, but is does give you a nice perspective of the old Europeans castles and is well worth a visit. It sits on a hill high above the city and from its battlements there are amazing views over the city and the distant mountains. When the sky is clear you can count on magnificent view of the Alps Mountains. Are you in good shape? You can either hike up to the hill or use a funicular.
A wonderful way to get a different aspect of the city. The River Ljubljana runs right through town and has many walking bridges to go from one side of the river to the other. It lies below the Triple Bridge' and 'Dragon Bridge' both which are popular tourist attractions.
The beauty of the skyscraper is not on the building itself, but about 13 floors high. Probably the best place with a great view of central Ljubljana and it surrounds. While going around the town don’t forget to check this place, it is just perfect spot for your afternoon coffee break
These are just a few places to visit in this lovely town. To make sure not to miss any spot it is also recommended to check the walking tours, sightseeing tours and why not try a food tour. It’s your vacation, so relax and enjoy.
