Milan airport (Malpensa)
One of the two largest airports in Italy and most important one in northern part of the country. Milan Malpensa Airport is located about 50 kilometers north-west of the center of Milan. Airport terminals and facilities
Milan Malpensa Airport consists of two terminals. Terminal 1 is the main terminal that consists of 3 floors.
On the 1st floor is the arrivals terminal, on the 2nd severance check-in, on the 3rd floor restaurants and shops. The idea, which dominated the design of Terminal 1 was the creation of a small town in which you can not only eat well some great Italian cuisine and food from all over the world, do shopping in the duty free zone but also take advantage of services such as steam room, solarium, relax in the beauty salon or go to hairstyle salon. The designers have not forgotten about the youngest travelers and there is specially prepared playroom where children can play under the supervision of the airport staff on the slides, mattresses, colorful blocks. Terminal 2 is the old terminal Malpensa Airport, about 1 km away from the Terminal 1.

From the airport to the city
At the airport there are six car parks: four of them near the Terminal T1 and two near the Terminal T2.
These are the parking lots of various standards, including two underground car parks. Cheap parking can be found near the Terminal T2.
Milan airport Malpensa is connected to the Milan railway line - Malpensa Express train runs from the airport to Milan Cadorna station. A second route from the Malpensa airport to Milan supports bus service to Milan Central Train Station. The same bus links to the airport, Malpensa is connected to the other two Milanese airports, Linate and Bergamo. There is also free transport services that goes to the city and back every seven minutes during day time and every half an hour at night.
All those that prefer renting a car can do it at the airport both at Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 in the arrivals hall. Services with driver are also available. Getting to the city of Milan will be easiest by A8 motorway travelling to the Marcallo Mesero exit, than to Malpensa and Varese.

Even the cheapest hotels are not really as cheap as we got used to in other cities of Europe.
Most of the cheapest hotels, hostels and guesthouses are located close and around the main railway station, around the V Vitruvio Street, near the metro station Lima and further from the city center. If we prefer accommodation in close proximity to all sightseeing destinations we can choose hostels or staying in private locals. Renting a room or whole apartment might be best value for money and good localization at once.
