Castles of the Netherlands
Major urban and economic development of the Netherlands dates back to seventeenth century. It brought a lot of magnificent buildings and castles, many of which survived until today. Access to each of these airports is very fast and comfortable due to the very well-developed system of roads and highways across the country. Amsterdam Schiphol Airport
Amsterdam Airport is the fourth largest in Europe and supports around 200 routes. It is located 18 km southwest of Amsterdam. It serves annually more than 58 million passengers. The airport has very well-developed rail connection with Amsterdam and other cities in the country. The train station is located on the lower floor of the airport. Trains leave every few minutes and the journey to Amsterdam Centraal Station takes only 15 minutes. This is the easiest and the cheapest way to get to the center, especially knowing that taxis are extremely expensive in the Netherlands. There are also free buses to neighboring hotels.
At the airport, it is possible to eat and relax in numerous bars, restaurants and cafes. They are located both in the main lobby, as well as in the passenger's area. If necessary there are also several exchange offices and ATMs. Travelers can buy souvenirs, clothes, cosmetics, travel equipment, and much more in many shops at the airport. Another international airport is located 14 km from the center of Eindhoven. Annually, the airport handles over 2.5 million passengers. It is the second largest airport in the Netherlands, right after Schiphol Airport. It has one passenger terminal. It is possible to eat and drink in several bars and restaurants. There is also one restaurant with terrace overlooking the airfield. In the main hall you will also find information desk, currency exchange offices and ATMs. Several shops with souvenirs, newspapers and snacks are located in the main lobby. Bus number 401 runs several times per hour and goes directly to Eindhoven center in 25 minutes. Ticket costs 3 EUR. There is no train station at the airport, however bus is connected to central station in Eindhoven. There is also a direct line from the airport to Amsterdam. This journey takes around 90 minutes.
The airport is located 8 km northwest of Rotterdam and 25 km southeast of The Hague. Rotterdam airport serves over 1 million passengers per year. There is an A$ road that connects Rotterdam with Amsterdam and The Hague. There is a good subway connection to The Hague or Rotterdam. To get from the airport to the Metro Meijersplein you should take a bus number 50. Bus number 33 connects airport with Rotterdam center. The bus stop is right next to the terminal building. It runs every 10 minutes during daytime and every 20 minutes in the evening.

The Political Hague and Modern Rotterdam
Amsterdam is a typical crowded and busy metropolis, the opposite of that is a peaceful and dignified Hague. The city is the political center of the country. Here you will find the seat of government, parliament, the International Court of Justice. It is also home of the Queen Beatrix. Beside the steel and glass monumental buildings, you can find a place with the old characteristic buildings. After visiting old town and several museums (the Royal Painting Gallery is a must- see for every art lover) it is mandatory to go to Scheveningen. This is a seaside district of Hague with beautiful and wide beach. You can also walk along the glass gallery located inside the massive pier and visit large aquarium Sea Life, with huge variety of sea creatures.
The history of Rotterdam, an important seaport dates back to the fourteenth century. Unfortunately, the historical center was destroyed during World War II. After the war it was totally rebuilt which resulted in gigantic architecture of concrete and glass. Very interesting examples of modern architecture include cubic houses Kijk Kubus, the Erasmus Bridge and buildings of international companies.
Happy life in Groningen
Groningen has a population of 200 thousand people and 1/8 of its are students. It created a unique, vibrant atmosphere. Maybe this is one of the reasons why Groningen were on the list of European with the most satisfied inhabitants. You will find there medieval monuments, great museums, the largest pub in Europe, a network of canals and bicycle paths. No wonder why one of the city’s slogans says "no boring moment."
