Wild Coast has a beautiful natural terrain- cliffs, caves, picturesque bays and sandy beaches, which after a few meters fall steeply into the rocky sea. The region is extremely popular among tourists, so be prepared that it can be a little bit crowded.
If you are looking for something more quiet, you should consider Costa Blanca. Less popular than Costa Brava, 218 km coastline full of beaches with white sand are a little bit underestimated. You will see rocks and mountains coming into the Mediterranean Sea, fruit orchards and palm groves. In the eastern part of Spain, in the province of Alicante, there is waiting 2800 hours of sunshine per year.

Tourism is one of the main pillars of the Spanish economy, hence Spain airports are quite modern and big. LOT Polish Airlines offers plane tickets to Spain to its major cities. You can choose between cheap flights to Barcelona or Madrid, but those cities and whole regions have so much to offer, that the best idea it to visit both of them.
The flight with LOT from Warsaw to Barcelona takes 3 hours. After this time you will land on the second largest airport in Spain, right after the one in Madrid. The airport is in El Prat de Llobregat, about 10 km from Barcelona. Annually, the airport handles over 30 million passengers. It can serve 300,000 planes every year. This is perhaps the busiest airport in the country, especially popular during summer holidays and for short trips within the country. Passengers can use two terminals. The modern Terminal 1 was opened in 2009 in response to the growing traffic at the airport in Barcelona. After opening the T2 became the seat of low cost airlines and charters. Passengers flying with LOT will use the new, modern Terminal 1.
Both terminals offer a variety of services and facilities for passengers. Among them are restaurants, cafes, bars and shops, business centers, information desks and luggage storage. Barcelona airport has nearly 12,000 parking spaces. There is also parking available for VIPs. Parking fees are charged by the minute. To get to the city center and other destinations there are trains and buses available. The train is not directly available from the T1. To get to it you need to take a free bus to T2, which takes 10 minutes. The journey to the center takes about 25 minutes, the ticket costs approximately 2.50 euro. A1 Aerobus connects the airport to Plaza Catalunya - Barcelona's main square. Tickets can be purchased from the driver for 4.25 euros On the way to Plaza Catalunya bus also stops at Plaça Espanya.

In 2009 it handled over 48 million passengers, classifying the airport in eleventh place in the world and 4 in Europe. Barajas has four terminals T1, T2, T3, T4. In 2006, when the fourth terminal was built, it became the largest airport in terms of space occupied by all terminals, which is million square meters. The airport is located in the north-eastern part of Madrid called Barajas.
Terminal 4 is located 2 km from terminals 1, 2 and 3 and it is connected with them by free buses and a subway line. Public transport is enabled by metro, bus or taxi, although the easiest and fastest way is by metro line no. 8. Travel time to the city center is about 20 minutes, a single ticket costs 1 euro. Spain main cities
It is quite impossible to describe all Spain main cities in one place. If you are just starting your adventure with this country it is good idea to focus at first on the major cities. Luckily LOT Polish Airlines offers direct flight to Spain, to both Barcelona and Madrid, which are the must-see for every decent traveller. The third biggest city in the country is Valencia, which is also worth a visit.
What to see in Madrid
Madrid is the capital of Spain since XVI century. It is famous for its busy squares and streets, and exciting nightlife. Prado Museum, is a must during a trip to Madrid. It consists of a vast collection of classical painting. You can see here works of El Greco, Diego Velázquez, Francisco Goya, Hieronymus Bosch, Titian, Rembrandt, Peter Paul Rubens, Albrecht Durer.
Another place which is impossible to miss is Plaza Mayor. It is the heart of the city and the most important square in the shape of a rectangle. Surrounded by beautiful buildings with arcades. The square is dominated by the monument of Philip II. The special attention draw here two historic buildings - Guild of Bakers and Butchers' Guild. Thanks to many restaurants and cafes, the place is lively and vibrant. A great attraction for football fans is 80-thousand stadium- Santiago Bernabeu. It is unforgettable experience to see the best players in the world in action. The cheapest tickets are for 35-40 euro, so a true fan of Real Madrid team for sure will be able to pay for it.
Barcelona is even more popular amongst tourists than Madrid. In fact it takes 4th place on the list of most visited European cities. City offers plenty of attractions which are quite impossible to see in one weekend. Many of monuments and places are on the UNESCO list, for example Park Guell, where it is worth to spend some time and relax a little bit on the longest (110 m!) bench in the world. The park was designed by the famous architect- Antoni Gaudi whose buildings you will find throughout the city. The fine example of his work is still unfinished Sagrada Familia cathedral- a unique Art Nouveau Roman Catholic church. Without exaggeration, we can say that usually football fans prefer to visit Camp Nou than another church. As Real Madrid fans choose a trip to Madrid first, all FC Barcelona fans will go crazy about attending one of their games in Camp Nou. The most recognizable street in the city is La Rambla. Without a walk on this 1 kilometre long avenue Barcelona sightseeing would not be complete.
Valencia is the third largest city in Spain, with approximately 800,000 inhabitants. On the shores of the Mediterranean life goes in typical Spanish rhythm. The city is full of bars, restaurants, cafés, beautifully restored monuments. Apart from the obvious historical attractions, it is also possible to see here the largest Aquarium in Europe or Museum of Science. One of the most important building of the city is the cathedral dating back to the thirteenth century. Generally Valencia sightseeing will be full of churches and cathedrals, so be prepared for a historical trip. Nevertheless the city has also its modern side. After visiting the old part you will be surprised with the city of arts and science. It consists of several buildings like Planetarium (L’Hemisfèric), the Aquarium (L'Oceanogràfic), Prince Philip Museum of Sciences or Queen Sophia Arts Palace.
