Bukovina and Czarnohora
Bukovyna is an area in Ukraine and Romania. It lies between the Carpathians and the Dniester.
The characteristical landscape of Ukrainian Bukovina is covered with forest and hills. Beside a beautiful environment, it is also a region of ethnic diversity. It is possible to meet here Ukrainians, Romanians, Poles, Jews, Germans and Armenians, which is reflected in the original architecture. Chernovtsy is a political, cultural and religious center of Bukovina, situated close to the border with Moldova. The oldest district of Chernovtsy was inhabited mostly by Jews before World War II. On the narrow streets you can see one-storey buildings and modest houses. District looks like a typical Galician shtetl. The old cemetery shows how multicultural the city is. You can watch there quarters of the tombstones in German, Romanian, Ukrainian, Polish.
On the other side there is a large Jewish cemetery with impressive tombstones. Czarnohora on the other hand, is a mountain range in the western part of Ukraine. It is the highest range in the Eastern Carpathians.
A beautiful part of the mountain landscape are the glacial lakes. Those area is perfect for the active recreation.
Palanka Castle is located in Mukachevo and it is one of the best preserved fortresses in Europe. Located on a hill in the Ukrainian part of Carpathian was founded in the thirteenth century. Originally it belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and had to defend its borders against the Tartar invasions. Castle was always known as a great defensive fortress. In addition to its favorable location, 5-meter high and thick walls were protecting it. The longest siege of the fortress lasted for three years from 1685 until 1688, when it became the target of Leopold I. Currently, many tourists come here to admire restored and recognized as one of the most important monuments in Transcarpathia.
Sofiyivsky Park is one of the most beautiful parks in Ukraine. It was established by order of Count Potocki.
It was a gift for his third wife Sofia Potocka. You can see there some inspiration from Greek mythology and French gardens. After the November Uprising it was confiscated by Tsar Nicholas I. The park covers an area of 160 hectares and there are more than 1.7 thousand species of plants growing. Very impressive are also beautiful ponds. Tourists can sail on a boat through the underground Styx river. In 2004 the park was named as National Dendrological Park.

Direct flight from Warsaw to Kiev Airport takes 1 hour 35 minutes. The biggest national and international airport of Ukraine is located in the town of Boryspil approximately 30 kilometers east of Kiev. This port is often chosen by tourists for their weekend trips and travels. It is served by 50 airlines and it has three terminals. Terminal A for domestic flights, terminal B for international flights and Terminal C for business flights and VIPs. At the airport there are restaurants and cafes. You can also use the services of currency exchange points and banks, as well as the ATMs. There are also a few shops. Three companies provide car rental services. At the airport there is Internet access in the terminal B. VIP Lodges have Wi-Fi connection. By Skybus you can reach the Metro Kharkov and the main railway station. Ticket price is 25 UAH, tickets can be purchased at the terminal or directly from the driver.
International Airport Lviv is situated about 6 kilometers from the city center. It is an important hub for air transport of western Ukraine. It supports connection from Lviv to different regions of Ukraine and the whole world. In 2007, the airport handled 147,000 passengers, but after joining Euro 2012 championship it was reconstructed. The new terminal handles now 32 international and domestic routes. Passengers are served in 28 check in desks and 9 departure gates. There are also 2 self- service check-ins. The new terminal is fully equipped to handle disabled people. Still in the phase of planning are VIP lounges and duty-free zone.
It is possible to reach the airport by taxi service. The cost of journey to the city center is around 50 UAH. There is also a bus connection from the center to the new terminal by bus 48. Ticket costs 2 UAH and i takes 30 minutes to reach the airport.
Odessa and Kharkov Airports
International Airport is in Odessa located 7 kilometers southeast from the city center. It is one of the largest airports in Ukraine. The terminal can handle 400 passengers per hour. In 2007, the airport handled nearly 2 million passengers. Now it is planned to enlarge the airport and construct a new modern terminal. Currently passengers can enjoy one passenger terminal, which include bank, currency exchange, luggage storage, shops and a hotel room for VIP. It is possible to get from the airport to the center of Odessa by minibus lines 101 and 129. There are also taxis available.
Kharkov Airport supports the second largest Ukrainian city - Kharkov, located in the north-eastern Ukraine. The airport is situated less than 10 kilometers from the city center. Currently it has two terminals. Terminal A supports domestic and international flights. This terminal was built for the Euro 2012 championship. It replaced the previous terminal, which after a thorough renovation serves now as a VIP terminal.

The capital of Ukraine
Kiev Is the capital and largest city of Ukraine. It is located in the north of the country just above the picturesque waters of the Dnieper River. Founded in the fifth century, the city have at the same time numerous beautiful Orthodox churches and socialist buildings. This diversity is one of the most characteristic features of Kiev. One of the most important monuments is Kiev Pechersk Lavra from the eleventh century. This magnificent monastery remembers Prince Yaroslav the Wise, and its wonderful architecture impresses until today.
In Kiev you cannot miss the council of God's Wisdom, also known as the Council of the Sofia. According to experts, it is one of the most beautiful religious buildings in Eastern Europe. Amazing mosaics and frescoes from the Middle Ages are its greatest ornament, that attract many tourists. The best place to start a visit in Kiev is the main avenue - Khreshchatyk. It has over 1.2 km long and it is 300 years old. It is a kind of overview of architectural styles and inspiring journey through the years of history.
A walk in Lviv
Lviv is located on Podolska Upland, on the shores of Poltava river. It is the most important city in western Ukraine. It has many monuments to see, amongst them there are numerous churches. Obce, Lviv was the only city with the cathedrals of three religious rites: Latin, Armenian and Orthodox. Lviv’s market square is the main square of the Old Town. Most of the area fills the City Hall. From its tower you can admire the city skyline. Each of the houses in the Market square has a unique story. Being in Lviv, it is necessary to visit the Cemetery of the Defenders of Lviv. In addition, anyone who visits this city must take a walk in one of the main promenades of Lviv, called Liberty Avenue (Prospect Svobody). It was created in the late nineteenth century.
Odessa is located in the southern part of Ukraine, on the Black Sea. The city is the most important and the largest port in Ukraine. It is the third largest city in the country. Primorskiy Boulevard is the famous avenue, where you can take a long walk. You can see there Alexander Pushkin’s monument. You should also visit the central pedestrian area of the city - Deribasovskaya. Along the street there are plenty of elegant cafes, restaurants and shops. One of the most important monuments in Odessa is, built in the late XIX century, Opera. Recently, it has been completely renovated. To discover its interior it is obligatory to buy a ticket to the show. The symbol of Odessa- The Potemkin Stairs are located between the historical center and seaport. They were built in the 20s of the nineteenth century.
