The stairs with 192 steps, connecting the city with the harbour, are a well-known showcase of the city. They gained their fame due to the memorable scene from the Sergei Eisenstein's movie Battleship Potemkin, showing a massacre of people by tsarist troops. At their top, at the Sea Boulevard, situated…

Located in the southern part of Ukraine, Odessa is one of the most important Black Sea harbours. The city is relatively young – it is only 200 years old – but from the beginning it is continuously popular among tourists. This is due to, among others, the colour of the metropolis with nearly a million people, picturesquely located at the hills just above the steep scarp over the Odessa Gulf, but mainly due to the climate – the sun shines in Odessa nearly 300 days a year.

The city is known for its wide avenues and boulevards, shaded by chestnuts and plane-trees. Antique 19th century city buildings and slightly damaged tenement houses are surrounded by the legend of the multi-ethnic past and the old cosmopolitanism, until today manifesting itself, for instance, in the local cuisine.

Called the Black Sea Pearl, Odessa has a lot to offer to the lovers of history and architecture, as well as the enthusiast of seaside rest. The healing properties of loams located in the Kujalnik liman encourage people to take mud baths by the salty seaside lake. Covering skin with the healing mud leaves long-lasting memories – due to the very intense smell. Mud baths in Kujalnik are particularly recommended for the diseases of joints and the spine. It is impossible to immerse in the liman – strong salinity protects against drowning.
