As early as December 7 the Boeing 787 Dreamliner will take off from Warsaw Chopin Airport to Colombo Airport. This is the first flight to Sri Lanka after a months-long break, offering passengers from Poland and other European countries a sunny holiday in the middle of winter.

LOT Polish Airlines' Boeing 787-8 and 787-9 Dreamliner will operate the route between Warsaw and Colombo until March 25, 2022, three times a week: on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Passengers will set off on their journey at 16:10 and will land at the Sri Lankan airport at 5:55 the following day (local time). The flight will take just over 9 hours and the aircraft will cover a distance of 7293 km.

– Our return to Ceylon is the best proof that we are using the full potential of our modern long-haul fleet. We are meticulously planning our flight network based on passenger needs and, of course, country-specific restrictions in force. South Asia has been attracting winter sun-seeking tourists for years. We welcome tourists from all over Europe on board our Dreamliners flying to Colombo. – Michał Fijoł, Member of the Management Board, says.

The schedule of flights has been planned so as to ensure the comfortable journey at the Warsaw Chopin Airport from most of the destinations operated by LOT in Poland, Western Europe and Scandinavia, the Baltic States and Central and Eastern Europe.

The island's green landscape, paradise beaches and plentiful tea fields attract tourists craving the exotic. Dubbed the Pearl of the Indian Ocean, Sri Lanka is also famous for its ancient architecture and, according to its inhabitants, the world's best curry. From November to March, the average temperature in Sri Lanka reaches 30 degrees Celsius, making the destination a perfect choice for holidays.

– Our Boeing 787s, in charter and scheduled formula, reach the most exotic corners of the world. Picturesque Ceylon is one of them. Before 2020, almost two million people travelled between Colombo and Europe. We recognize Sri Lanka's ever-growing tourism potential. We are also convinced that our connection is an excellent offer for Sri Lankan, travelling to Europe or the USA in winter – Michał Fijoł, Member of the Management Board, adds.

The Warsaw-Colombo route will be operated by modern wide-body aircraft – Boeing 787-8 and 787-9 Dreamliner. Tickets for LOT’s new flights to Colombo are already available via all sales channels, including the lot.com website, LOT Contact Center, LOT Travel offices and at travel agencies.

The airline is represented in Sri Lanka by Millennium Transportation (Pvt.) Ltd., a subsidiary of Hayleys PLC, Sri Lanka’s preeminent multinational conglomerate.
