Following the decision of the government of Poland to suspend international air traffic, which has been caused by the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, all LOT connections, from both Poland and Hungary, will be suspended until March 28, 2020 inclusive.

As of Sunday, March 15, 2020 15 Polish borders were closed  for foreigners for a period of 10 days.

Every Polish citizen still can return to Poland. Besides, following groups of travelers can also access Poland:

  • spouses of Polish citizens,
  • children of Polish citizens,
  • travelers with Karta Polaka,
  • travelers are holders of Polish temporary or permanent residency permit holders or work permit holders

In accordance with the order of the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate, as from March 15, 2020 all passengers on international flights and transit flights returning to Poland are subject to mandatory 14-day quarantine.

All passengers returning from Italy and Asian destinations (China, South Korea) are subject to a mandatory double body temperature check. The first measurement is taken by airport staff (Asian directions) or by the cabin crew before boarding the plane (Italy). The second temperature measurement takes place in the second phase of the flight and is performed by the cabin crew, then the result is recorded on the Passenger Location Card. In exceptional cases, measurements may also be taken by medical or security services, who may board the aircraft after the landing.

In the case of measurements taken after landing by medical or law enforcement services, in the onboard announcement, passengers will be asked to remain in their seats while waiting for the relevant services to board the plane.

Temperature measurements will also be taken by cabin crew at a passenger's request or when a passenger has symptoms of illness that may indicate infection with SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus
