Heathrow Airport (LHR)

It is probably not easy to find a person who knows all London airports by heart, for there are as many as six of them! However, it may also be difficult to find a person who has never heard of the largest of them - Heathrow. After all, this airport, located 23 kilometers from central of London, is among the world's busiest airports - in 2019 Heathrow Airport handled over 80 million passengers.

Despite the huge number of passengers handled, Heathrow has just two runways. However, LHR Airport has as many as four passenger terminals (T2, T3, T4 and T5) to accomodate all the travellers. To get from Heathrow Airport to London, you should head to the railway station, from which trains run to the center every 30 minutes, and Paddington Station every 15 minutes. Heathrow Airport is also served by subway's Picadilly line. Other transportation options include buses and shuttle buses that cooperate with London hotels. If you value comfort in your travels, take advantage of the distinctive black cabs waiting outside the arrivals hall. Getting from the airport to central London takes more than half an hour on average. 

While waiting for your flight from Heathrow, you can enjoy a traditional British tea or eat at one of the dozens of restaurants located at this London airport. If you have more time to spend, go shopping at the boutiques of major fashion houses or shops with exclusive perfumes and cosmetics. Heathrow offers also such useful amenities as free Wi-Fi, drinking water taps, showers, an exchange office and an ATM.
