Małgorzata and Gabriela talk about how LOT’s in-flight entertainment system and e-press are created.

What do you do on a daily basis to make the time passengers spend on board simply more enjoyable?

We handle both the in-flight entertainment and e-press offerings, as well as the entire system that passengers use to access them. We select content, collaborate with providers, and also develop the technology – the interface, content layout, and functionalities. This allows us to combine the world of content with technology and create solutions that are intuitive, modern, and tailored for everyone.

How often do the in-flight entertainment and e-press offerings change?

The in-flight entertainment is refreshed every two months. At that time, we check which movies, series, and shows are most popular and update the offerings so that every flight is engaging.

The e-press operates continuously – new editions of newspapers and magazines appear every day. Passengers can always access the latest news, no matter where they are.

What gives you the greatest satisfaction?

The greatest satisfaction comes when we see passengers enjoying the content we’ve selected – watching movies, reading newspapers, returning to their favorite titles. Knowing that our work makes their journey more enjoyable truly gives us a sense of purpose and pride.

LOT In-Flight Entertainment in Numbers:

  • Around 480 hours of content

  • Nearly 200 movies and TV shows

  • Over 1,000 newspaper and magazine titles

You can find the current on-board hits in the in-flight magazine, Kaleidoscope.

How do you ensure linguistic and cultural diversity in your offerings?

This is one of our key priorities. When creating our offerings, we take into account the flight destinations, the season, and the passenger profile. We want everyone – regardless of their departure location or language – to find something for themselves. That’s why, alongside Polish and Hollywood titles, the system also includes European, regional, and Asian films. The same goes for e-press: newspapers and magazines are available in multiple languages so passengers can choose content both by topic and by language.

Where does the system operate, and what does it offer?

The IFE system operates on long-haul routes (Boeing 787 Dreamliner) with individual seat-back screens. The interface is touch-enabled and multilingual, allowing passengers to choose movies, series, shows, music, or track their flight at any time.

The e-press is available on all routes as well as in three Business Lounges. The range of available downloads depends on the travel class.

What do passengers choose most often?

The most popular choices are new movie releases – these are what passengers reach for first. High-profile premieres quickly rise to the top of the most-watched titles. Polish productions are also very popular, including both new films and classics. Increasingly, passengers are choosing world cinema classics, family animations, and Asian films as well.

For many, a long flight is the perfect opportunity to catch up on movies. That’s why a diverse offering is key – a well-balanced mix of new releases, local content, and trusted favorites ensures that there’s something for practically everyone.
