Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) is a new facility on the aviation map of Europe, with a ceremonial opening in the autumn of 2020. At that time it replaced Berlin's two former airports - Tegel and Schönefeld. It is worth mentioning that the new airport in Berlin took over after Schönefeld a part of the infrastucture, including one of the runways, which, however, was renovated and extended on this occasion. Berlin Brandenburg Airport is located 18 kilometers southeast of the center of the German capital. The patron of the new Berlin Airport is Willy Brandt, the capital's longtime mayor and German chancellor.

Transfer from the airport
As a modern airport should, Berlin Brandenburg is well integrated with the surrounding metropolitan area. A train station has been built directly below the T1 terminal, providing local as well as long-distance service. There is also a coach station and a public transportation stop underground. Meanwhile, there is a cab rank in front of the T1 terminal of Berlin's new airport. Brandenburg provides travelers with more than 10,000 parking spaces, with parking lots P3 and P8 offering charging stations for electric cars.
Amenities for travellers
Berlin Airport offers a range of amenities and services, including grocery stores, restaurants, a florist, a pharmacy and a duty-free store. You can also easily buy souvenirs for your loved ones. Berlin Brandenburg also offers a comprehensive VIP service, including access to a business lounge. Keep in mind that you may not find the described amenities in terminals T2 and T5, which have only a few stores and service outlets. Most passenger amenities are offered at the T1 terminal.
