On October 3–4, 2025, the football team Goal a LOT took part in the prestigious Aviation Football Cup, held in Marathon near Athens. Our players returned from the Aviation Football Cup as runners-up! The team’s outstanding performance was also crowned with an individual achievement—team captain Tomasz Malczewski was named the best goalkeeper of the tournament.

The Aviation Football Cup is the largest and most prestigious football tournament in the world for professionals from the aviation industry. This year’s edition featured 25 teams from around the globe, with 16 teams competing in the Elite Cup phase.

Group Stage

The team Goal a LOT was drawn into the highly competitive Group A, facing the defending champions Qatar Airways, as well as Lufthansa Technik Sofia and Air Dolomiti.

  • In their opening match, our players caused a surprise by defeating Qatar Airways 1-0, thanks to a goal by Rafał Abramczuk.

  • In the next match, they drew 1-1 with Lufthansa Technik SofiaAdam Litwinko scored for our team, but the opponents equalized in the final moments of the game.

  • The final group match against Air Dolomiti was extremely tense – LOT only needed a draw, while the Italians required a win. After a thrilling, closely contested match, a 0-0 draw secured our team’s advancement to the knockout stage.

Quarterfinal

In the evening quarterfinal, our team faced the Italian team Quick Turn Europe from Rome. The match ended in a spectacular 7-2 victory for LOT! The goals were scored by: Adam Litwinko x2, Jakub Korczak, Tytus Lipiński, Rafał Abramczuk, Szymon Boruch, and Krzysztof Borek.

Semifinal: A Fight Until the Final Whistle

In the semifinal, our players once again faced an Italian team—this time Bergamo Airport. The match was very evenly contested, but Goal a LOT emerged victorious with a 1-0 win, thanks to a goal by Piotr Brodowski, securing their place in the grand final. This was a historic achievementnever before had Goal a LOT team reached this stage. Last year in Budapest, the team finished 4th, but this time they were competing for gold!

Final Against Qatar Airways

The final was a rematch of the opening game—Goal a LOT team faced Qatar Airways, coached by staff from the Paris Saint-Germain Academy. Unfortunately, our team had already suffered a few injuries leading up to the final. The opponents quickly took a 2-0 lead. Tytus Lipiński scored a consolation goal, but before halftime, the Qatari team extended their lead to 3-1 and maintained control until the final whistle.
