LOT Upgrade - frequently asked questions
LOT Upgrade offers you the opportunity to determine your own price for LOT Business Class and LOT Premium Economy upgrade by submitting an offer.
A passenger who has purchased an LOT Economy Class flight ticket can submit an offer for:
- LOT Business Class flight ticket on short-haul flights
- LOT Premium Economy and LOT Business Class flight ticket on long-haul flights
A passenger who has purchased a LOT Premium Economy flight ticket can submit an offer for:
- LOT Business Class flight ticket on long-haul flights
If your reservation includes several passengers the offer will be relevant for all passengers on the same reservation. LOT reserves the right to accept or reject the upgrade offer on certain flights, in line with criteria to be determined by LOT and updated from time to time at LOT's sole discretion, such as flight status, the amount of the offer, etc.
We will inform you 23 hours before departure whether or not your LOT Upgrade offer has been approved.
- LOT Business Class flight ticket on short-haul flights
Currently, LOT offers LOT Upgrade for:
1) long-haul flights:- between Warsaw and Beijing, Tokyo, Seoul, Delhi, Colombo, Mumbai, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, Toronto
- on direct flights between Cracow and Chicago, New York, and Rzeszow and New York
- between Budapest and New York
2) short-haul flights:
- between Warsaw and Beirut, Tel Aviv, Nur-Sultan and Dubai
- between Tel Aviv and Lublin, Wroclaw, Cracow.
3) short-haul flights (European routes up to 5 hours)
If this service is available for the flight you selected, you can upgrade as follows:
- By purchasing a ticket on the LOT website – at the end of the reservation process, a window will appear with an offer to upgrade your ticket, if your flight allows it.
- In Manage My Booking on the lot.com home page
- By clicking on the link that you will receive by e-mail before departure.
In order to qualify for making a LOT Upgrade offer, you need a valid and issued LOT Economy Class/LOT Premium Economy ticket for a scheduled flight operated by LOT. You may submit your LOT Upgrade offer up to 24 hours before scheduled departure time.
If you purchased a flight ticket on the LOT website, a window will appear at the end of the reservation process. When purchasing through any other channel, the availability of the service can be checked via Manage My Booking interface on LOT home page.
LOT Upgrade can be used by the passengers who are holding an LOT Polish Airlines flight document (ticket number must start with 080…). Upgrade LOT does not include all air fares and all destinations, that LOT operates to.
Additionally LOT Upgrade does not include:
- Passengers travelling with children under 2 years of age
- Passengers booked within a group of more than 9 people
- Passengers travelling on charter flights operated by PLL LOT
- Flight bookings which are not yet confirmed.
- Passengers travelling with children under 2 years of age

- If your flight is eligible for upgrade at the end of the booking process there will be an automatic notification suggesting an upgrade
- Choose the flight segment and submit your offer
- Enter your credit card details which will be verified but will be not charged until the upgrade is approved and confirm your offer
- You will receive an offer confirmation by email
- You may change or cancel your offer as long as it has not already been accepted, but not later than 37 hours prior to the scheduled flight departure time.
- After that time, all offers received will be assessed and a number of available LOT Business Class/LOT Premium Economy seats dedicated by LOT for the upgrade will be assigned. If your offer has been accepted, you will receive an email confirming your upgrade between 48 - 35 hours before departure.
- You will receive an information email regardless of whether your offer has been accepted or not.
If you have booked your flight via a travel agency, you can submit your offer directly online under Manage My Booking at www.lot.com.

All flight legs of your booking which are suitable for a LOT Upgrade will be displayed. You decide for yourself for which flights you make an offer.
Placing the offer is free of charge. Only if you receive the upgrade, your credit card will be debited with the amount of your offer. Please note, we still need your credit card details at the time of making your offer for standard verification purposes.
You may change or cancel your offer as long as it has not already been accepted, but not later than 24 hours prior to the scheduled flight departure time.
After your offer has been accepted, the upgrade is no longer refundable.
Your upgrade remains valid if you are re-booked to another LOT flight at the same amount. Otherwise, in case there are not enough seats available in the higher class to fulfill your upgrade we will refund the amount offered for the cancelled flight to the credit card that was used to pay for the upgrade.
If it is impossible to fly with our airlines, and you are rebooked with another carrier, you will travel in the original class (before the bidding). The amount paid for the service will be refunded to the same credit card.
As long as the offer has not already been accepted, but not later than 24 hours prior to the scheduled flight departure time may cancel, correct your offer or re-offer.
If your reservation includes several passengers the offer will be relevant for all passengers on the same reservation. As long as you are not registered under one and the same booking number, you may submit your individual offer.

- Priority in baggage reclaim
- Fast track at the airport
- Priority boarding
- Comfortable seats with fold-out footrests, at a distance of 93 cm between the rests
- Individual 10.6-inch monitors
- Welcome drink - soft drink
- Meals, alcoholic drinks, snacks
LOT Business Class upgrade on long-haul flights gives you:
- A dedicated Call Centre line
- A dedicated check-in point at the airport
- Priority in baggage reclaim
- Access to business lounges at airports
- Fast track at the airport
- Priority boarding
- Comfortable flat bed seats at a distance of 190 cm between the rests
- Individual 15.4-inch monitors
- Welcome drink - champagne
- Meals, alcoholic beverages, snacks in restaurant quality with waiter service.
No, this is not possible.
No. Miles for Miles & More members will be calculated on the basis of the original class for which the reservation was made and not for the class in which the passenger actually flew.
No. All conditions remain valid and unchanged.
No. Baggage allowance specified in your fare conditions remains unchanged.
No, benefits are granted only on the bid segment of travel. Services such as Fast Track, Business Lounge access, priority check-in, or priority boarding are only granted at the departure airport of the bidded leg of the trip.
