Prohibited items and hazardous materials
Hazardous materials are objects or substances that can pose a threat to the aircraft or to people on board. Before packing your luggage, be sure to read our dangerous goods policy.
If the product you wish to transport has one of the following markings on it, it may be dangerous goods.
Check in the table below in which luggage you can carry the product or contact the Contact Centre.

Hazardous materials cannot be brought on board in the checked or hand luggage except in cases listed below. You can bring dangerous goods permitted in hand luggage on board unless otherwise specified.

Alcoholic beverages in retail packaging, of a strength exceeding 24% but not 70%, in a container up to 5l, in the quantity of up to 5l per person.
Note: Alcoholic beverages containing 24% alcohol or less are not restricted.
Permitted in hand luggagePermitted in checked luggageSafely packaged ammunition (only Subclass 1.4S, UN 0012 or UN 0014) in the quantity of up to 5kg gross per person for personal use. One package can contain ammunition belonging to one passenger only.

It can be equipped with a pyrotechnic activation mechanism containing not more than 200mg net of subclass 1.4S material. The backpack must be packaged in a way that makes it impossible to be activated accidentally. Backpack airbags must be fitted with pressure release valves.

(Example: suitcases with built-in power banks of suitcases designed as self-propelled)Permitted in hand luggagePermitted in checked luggageLithium batteries, non-spillable batteries, nickel metal hydride batteries and dry cell batteries for portable electronic devices can be carried in hand luggage only.
Articles whose main purpose is to provide a source of power, e.g. power banks, are considered spare batteries. Each of these batteries must be secured to prevent short circuits.
Lithium-metal batteries: the content of metallic lithium cannot exceed 2 g. (To help illustrate: an AA battery contains 0.9g of lithium)
Lithium-ion batteries: energy capacity cannot exceed 100 Wh.
Each person may have max. 20 spare batteries.Permitted in hand luggageProhibited in checked luggageReplacement/in bulk rechargeable batteries containing lithium metal or lithium-ion cells/accumulators for portable electronic devices can be carried in hand luggage only.
In the case of lithium-metal batteries, the content of metallic lithium cannot exceed 2 g. In the case of lithium-ion batteries, the rating cannot exceed 100 Wh. Items that primarily serve as a source of energy, e.g. energy banks, are considered spare batteries Such batteries must be protected from short circuits.
Each person may transport max. 20 spare batteries.
Non-spillable batteries must have 12 V or less and 100 Wh or less.
Each person may transport max. 2 spare batteries.Permitted in hand luggageProhibited in checked luggageCamping stoves and fuel containers containing no liquid fuel or its fumes.

For carriage in checked baggage, the following markings are required: ‘dry ice’ or ‘carbon dioxide, solid’ with the net weight of dry ice stated or z with the indication that there is 2.5 kg or less of it.

Prohibited in hand luggagePermitted in checked luggageIncluding medical devices such as portable oxygen concentrators (POC) (note that devices that generate oxygen during a chemical reaction are prohibited for transport) and consumer electronics such as photographic cameras, mobile phones, laptops and tablets carried by passengers for personal use.
For lithium-metal batteries, the content of lithium cannot exceed 2 g and for lithium-ion batteries, the quantity of Watt-hours cannot exceed 100 Wh.
Devices in the checked luggage must be entirely switched off and protected from damage. Up to 15 PED devices can be carried per person.Permitted in hand luggagePermitted in checked luggageElectronic devices powered with batteries with the energy capacity greater than 100 Wh but not exceeding 160 Wh, powering portable electronic devices and PMED or with lithium content exceeding 2 g but not exceeding 8 g, only for the PMED.
Max. two spare batteries are permitted in hand luggage only. Such batteries must be individually secured to prevent short circuits.
