Basic information regarding your ticket
Booking number, ticket number, flight details, number of luggage allowed, additional services purchased? Find out where on your electronic ticket all the necessary information for your trip is located.
The booking number, also known as the PNR number, can be found on the purchase confirmation, which is sent by email once the transaction has been finalised. It is located at the top of such confirmation on the left-hand side. It is a number of 6 characters and is a combination of numbers and letters in any configuration. This number does not contain the digits 1 and 0. It is described on the confirmation as ‘booking reference’ or ‘booking ref’.

You will find the assigned ticket number on your purchase confirmation, which you will receive by e-mail after the transaction has been finalised. The number can be found at the top of such confirmation on the left-hand side. It is described as ‘Ticket number’ or ‘Document number’. It is a number consisting of 13 digits. The first three digits represent the airline's unique IATA identification number (LOT's identification number is 080). The remaining 10 digits are assigned randomly by the system when the booking is made.

The document number for the purchase of the ancillary service (so-called EMD) can be found on the purchase confirmation, which is sent by email once the trip has been finalised. It is often referred to on the confirmation as the ‘Document Number’ It always starts with the digits 080- and has a total of 13 digits. This number is always linked to the ticket number and the journey for which it was purchased.
- The document number issued for your paid-for additional service.
- The ticket number to which the purchased service is linked (route and travel dates).
- The number of the reservation to which the purchased ancillary service is linked.
- The date for which the service was purchased and booked.
- Description of what the service relates to - what services were purchased for.
- Date of issue of the EMD.

The voucher number can be found on the purchase confirmation, which is sent by email once the trip has been finalised. On the confirmation it is often referred to as the ‘document number’ or ‘document number’. It always starts with the digits 080- and has a total of 13 digits. The voucher number is always linked to the ticket number and the journey from which it was exchanged.
The total price of an airline ticket consists of the value of the selected airline fare, fuel surcharge, airport charges, government taxes and transaction fee, e.g. for the issuance of the document.
1. Details of the total ticket price and its components:
- The airline fare (airline tariff)is the net ticket price charged by an airline for carrying a passenger on a particular route. It is individually set by the airline and is always linked to specific flight standards, itinerary and potential changes or refunds.
- The fuel surcharge for non-refundable tickets is non-refundable.
- Airport charges are levied and remitted to the airport authority concerned for the use of facilities, equipment or services related to take-off, landing, lighting, aircraft parking or cargo or passenger handling.
- Government taxes are charges levied by countries for the use of their airspace.
- A transaction fee is a charge for booking service and ticket issuance. The fee may vary depending on the sales channel (Contact Center, airport office, agency office, website).
2. Name of the purchased fare
- The codes in the ‘Fare basis’ field determine the type of ticket, the fare applied to the ticket, the class of travel and the services to which it is entitled. The type of fare determines, among other things, the minimum and maximum stay, the conditions for rebooking or refunding the ticket in case of cancellation, etc.

This is a charge based on the terms and conditions of the fare for making changes to your booking and ticket. Depending on the chosen fare and itinerary, the amount may vary.
This charge is only found on refundable tickets with a deduction. It is a fare for a resignation of the ticket. Dependent on the selected tariff and route may be different. Please also note that if you use part of your journey, an additional deduction will be made for the actual route taken.
The most common questions about the booking process
Here you will find tips on how to book your reservation correctly and make modifications to your ticket if necessary.
- Don't have a booking number or don't know how to find it? Just give us the 13-digit number of your ticket by contacting the Contact Center. Our LOT tickets start with 080- which is our airline's unique designation, followed by a string of 10 more digits, randomly assigned by the booking system.
- If you do not have both a booking number and a ticket number, due to current data protection regulations, it will not be possible to provide you with information by telephone, email or messenger/whatsapp. To retrieve your reservation number, it will be necessary to go in person to a city or airport office, where your identity can be verified because of the identity document you present.
The details you need to provide when making a booking and purchasing a ticket are:
- Name(s) of passenger(s) (as per the travel document you will be using for your flights),
- Date of birth of the passenger(s),
- Contact details such as e-mail address and contact telephone number.
You can buy your ticket approximately one year in advance. Our flight schedule is usually available one year ahead (-7 days).
You can check it on our home page in the flight search engine (at the top in the blue panel), selecting the dates and destinations you are interested in. If a particular connection is not available on the selected dates, a message will be displayed explaining why it is not possible to purchase a ticket.
A booking made via the website will be valid and active for 1 hour and 55 minutes. Please note that after this time, if the booking has not been paid for and the ticket purchase completed, the ticket price for the same route and dates may change to a higher price. The different, new price is based on the current availability of booking classes on the route that remain on sale.
Yes, there is no limit to the number of tickets one passenger can purchase. However, please note that the flights purchased must not overlap or clash with each other. What does this mean?
When purchasing multiple trips, you are not allowed to:
- Making multiple bookings for the same person, on the same route and on the same travel dates.
- Making multiple bookings for the same person, on different legs of a journey, which blocks capacity on several flights and such a journey could not physically take place because, for example, the start date of the journey is on the same day, connecting flights are not feasible due to the distance of cities and departure times.
Please note that from the airline's point of view, such bookings ‘artificially’ fill up capacity on flights and therefore we can, through the management of the booking system, automatically remove the duplicate booking and release it for sale to another passenger.
There can be a maximum of 9 passengers per booking.

LOT does not offer special fares or emergency discounts. In the first instance, check whether the ticket you have purchased (tariff conditions) allows for exchange or refund.
If your ticket is not subject to change or refund, there is a special procedure in the event of the death of the passenger or a loved one. Please contact the LOT Contact Center to find out if your case qualifies, the possible scope of changes and what documents you need to provide.
The procedure, based on IATA Resolution 735C, assumes that a ‘close relative’ is:
- spouse
- daughter or son (including adopted children)
- parents
- siblings
- grandparents
- grandchildren
- mother-in-law/father-in-law
- brother-in-law
- stepchild/grandchild
Passenger must prove relationship and provide death certificate.
Remember that the airline considers each case individually and decides whether it agrees to a make an exception from the conditions of the purchased ticket.

Booking for a child
Travelling with an infant or a child under 12 years of age? Read how to correctly set up a booking for a minor and benefit from the discount they are entitled to.
f your baby hasn't been born yet, but you know you want to travel with him/her soon after the birth, set up a booking just for you. Once the baby is born, contact customer service and our team will add the infant to your existing booking.
Do not purchase a ticket for a child who has not yet been born, as the details entered at the time of purchase (such as name, day of birth) may not be factually correct. A discrepancy between the data contained in the booking and the child's documents shown during the check-in or boarding, will result in the child being denied boarding and not being able to take the planned flight.
Remember that you must always have a ticket for yourself and the infant you are travelling with.
An infant up to the age of two can travel on the lap of a parent, paying a reduced ticket fare (infant ticket).
If your child reaches the age of two during the journey, for the return journey he/she must already have purchased a ticket with the correct child discount (instead of the existing ticket with the infant discount), and booked a seat.
The infant ticket and the child ticket differ in the amount of the applicable discount, which is calculated on the basis of the adult fare. Read more about infant and child discounts and booking a ticket for passengers under the age of 12.
How do I purchase a ticket for a child who will be 2 years old during the journey?
1. If you are just planning such a journey, there are two options:
- Purchase two separate tickets - one for the outbound flight for the infant, and one for the inbound flight for the child with seating rights. Such a purchase can be made through our Contact Center or on your own, directly on our website.
- Purchase a ticket for the entire journey - departure and return - as for a child who has already reached the age of 2, and therefore with seat entitlement for the entire journey.
2. If you have already purchased a ticket for the entire journey as an infant, and you need to postpone the return flight to a date when your child will already be at least 2 years old, it will be necessary to:
- exchange your ticket for a ticket with the correct child discount - due to the seating requirement on the return flight. This exchange is only possible via our Contact Center. The cost depends on the terms of the original ticket and current seat availability.
Please note that for a child under 2 years of age with a purchased seat, an approved car seat will be required during the flight. Please bring it with you.
As you probably know, children aged between 2 and 11 are entitled to a discount of 25% on the normal fare on international routes, 40% on domestic flights. On some European routes, the discount does not apply.
The discount applied to a child's ticket is determined solely by their age on the day of travel commencement. This means that even if a child turns 12 during the journey, they are entitled to the discount for the entire trip (outbound and inbound).
How do I purchase a ticket for a child who will be 12 years old during the trip?
You are entitled to a child discount ticket if your child is not yet 12 years old at the time of departure.
Book a ticket with a child discount for the entire journey, because the age of your child on the day of travel commencement (departure) determines whether you are eligible for the discount.
