My Travel Insurance – "PZU Assistance in travel with LOT"

Are you going on holidays or planning a business trip? With travel insurance you don’t need to worry about complications or extra expenses. PZU S.A. prepared three insurance options, so you can choose the one that suits you best. 

Remember!

  • This insurance is for people no older than 65 years and the person concluding the insurance contract must be at least 18 years old.
  • This insurance covers trips lasting no longer than 30 days.
  • This insurance is for Polish citizens and foreigners who are staying in Poland at the moment of concluding the insurance contract.

Benefits of choosing travel insurance

Option 1: Travel cancellation and shortening insurance

If you want a vider scope of protection – choose option 3.

If one of the seven events indicated in the GTC occurs, as a result of which you have to cancel your trip, and if an additional clause is enabled - if you have to cancel your trip due to sudden COVID-19 or any mutation or variant of this disease, or due to obligatory quarantine on the basis of a doctor's recommendation, you will receive a refund for the cost of (if you cannot recover it): 

  • your flight ticket,
  • other cost (organised trip, accommodation or car rental) – up to PLN 2 250 PLN.

In the travel shortening insurance option, you are covered from the moment you leave home until you return from your trip.

If you need to curtail your holiday, e.g. due to an accident, illness or if an additional clause is included and you need to curtail your holiday due to sudden COVID-19 or any mutation or variant of this disease, PZU SA will reimburse the costs incurred by you up to 2 250 PLN: 

  • cost of transport on the return travel,
  • costs which you have not recovered and which apply to the period by which your organised leisure has been shortened.

Option 2: Travel insurance without travel cancellation cover

Cover from the moment you leave home until you return from your trip. See what we can offer.

If you get ill (also applicable to sudden COVID-19 or any mutation or variant of this disease, provided that an additional clause in this respect is included) or have an accident, PZU SA will arrange and pay for e.g. :

  • doctor appointment or hospital treatment,
  • medical transport to your home,
  • benefit for each day of hospitalisation.

Support after an accident. PZU SA will pay out money if e.g.:

  • as a result of an accident your health suffers seriously (the so-called permanent impairment), e.g. you break your leg or twist your knee,
  • as a result of an accident you pass away – the money from your insurance will be paid to your relatives.

Problem with baggage? Leave it to PZU SA, which will e.g.:

  • pay out compensation if someone breaks e.g. into your hotel room and steals or damages your baggage,
  • pay out compensation if someone steals, destroys or damages your baggage when you are unable to take care of it due to e.g. sudden illness, and if an additional clause is include – you are unable to take care of it due to sudden COVID-19 or any mutation or variant of this disease,
  • will reimburse you for the cost of purchasing necessary items, e.g. cosmetics and clothes, if your baggage reaches you with a delay of at least 12 hours.

Remember!

Suitcases, bags, briefcases or similar items used to transport a luggage are not cover by the insurance in case of their destruction, damage, breakage or scratches. 

Your documents have been lost, destroyed or stolen? In such a situation you can also count on PZU SA, which will:

  • provide information on how to obtain replacement documents,
  • cover the cost of issue of replacement documents that you need to continue your travel.

PZU SA will pay out compensation for money lost if:

  • money you have with your during your travel has been stolen,
  • someone has broken into the safe in which you kept your money.

Your scheduled flight is delayed? PZU SA will:

  • reimburse you for unused travel costs which you have not recovered in the event that you resign from your travel because your flight was delayed for at least 24 hours,
  • or pay out money for each full 12 hours of delay in your travel.

The insurance covers only delays in a scheduled flight for which the insured person had purchased a ticket through the LOT Polish Airlines.

You have missed your flight? PZU SA will reimburse you for extra expenses on transport to the airport for the next flight to your destination if:

  • the car in which you travelled broke down,
  • the means of public transport in which you travelled was delayed.

If you need to shortened your travel, e.g. due to an accident, illness or if an additional clause is included and you need to curtail your travel due to sudden COVID-19 or any mutation or variant of this disease, PZU SA will reimburse the costs incurred by you:

  • cost of transport on the return travel,
  • costs which you have not recovered and which apply to the period by which your organised leisure has been curtailed.

In addition, PZU SA will pay out compensation to the person you harmed, e.g. you injure somebody or destroy one's property, and cover the cost of defence in the event of a breach of law, e.g. costs of lawyer fees and legal opinions.

Sum insured/guaranteed, i.e. the maximum amount of PZU SA cover in the event of an insured occurrence.

  • Costs of medical treatment and assistance (e.g. costs of emergency transport): 500 000 PLN
  • Hospital treatment: PLN 65 for each full 24 hours, up to 3 250 PLN
  • Accident: 45 000 PLN
  • Baggage: 4 500 PLN
  • Loss of documents: 1 000 PLN
  • Cash:  1 250 PLN
  • Delay of or resignation from travel 350 PLN for each 12h of delay, up to 1 400 PLN – delay of travel, 2 250 PLN – resignation from travel
  • Missed flight: 900 PLN
  • Travel shortening: 2 250 PLN
  • Civil liability of natural persons in private life 500 000 PLN
  • Legal costs: 20 000 PLN

Option 3: Travel insurance with travel curtailment cover

Choose this insurance option and get comprehensive travel cover (also applicable to COVID-19 or or any mutation or variant of this disease - if an additional clause in this respect is included). This package includes all insurance cover described in the two earlier options.
