In addition, Czechs take great care of the decor of their homes - on the occasion of Easter they are in the habit of setting up pots of grain, usually wheat, in their interiors. In Czech homes at Easter you can also expect the aromatic smell of freshly baked cake in the shape of a lamb or the so-called Judas, a yeast cake with honey. Easter Monday celebrations are also an interesting tradition - at that time men stroll through the streets with willow bows in their hands and slap females on their feet. Hard to believe? It was once thought that this pastime was supposed to herald youth and health, but today... has been replaced by the custom of pouring water on women! In some localities, of course.
