On May 6, Saturday morning, Polish families living in Chicago were heading in one direction only. The goal was to be present at the parade celebrating the adoption of the May 3 Constitution. No sunshine was needed that day, as the excitement and good atmosphere sufficiently warmed up the city's central artery - Columbus Drive. The event was attended by numerous Polish organizations, representatives of companies and institutions connected with the country on the Vistula River. LOT Polish Airlines, which has been connecting Poland with Chicago for 51 years, could not miss it either.

Celebrating Polishness

This year's event was held under the theme "Polish-American Partnership for Peace." The parade was not only an opportunity to celebrate Polishness, but also to promote Polish culture, traditions and history. Thanks to it, the Polish community in Chicago was able to celebrate its heritage, strengthen ties among themselves and emphasize its place in American society.

Nurturing ties with Polonia

LOT Polish Airlines has had its marching unit in Chicago during the parade since 2017 (with a break during the pandemic, when the event was not held). This year it was the only company based in Poland; the other institutions participating in the parade were representations of Chicago-based Polish companies. LOT has paid very close attention to nurturing ties with the Polish community over the years. Every year it participates in events that bring the two nations together, such as the Polish Constitution Day Parade in Chicago and the Pulaski Parade in New York.

By participating in the event, we want to emphasize the importance of our relationship with Polonia. In 2022, we carried more than 350,000 passengers traveling to and from the United States on our flights. We know that our airline is appreciated by the Polish community, and our planes are seen as "a little piece of Poland." This is a great honor for us and a great motivation to further develop our transatlantic connections.
