Can I travel with an electric shaver?

Yes, you can carry an electric shaver in either carry-on or checked baggage, depending on the type of power supply. Be sure to read the information below to learn when you can carry an electric shaver in your carry-on baggage and when you can carry it in your checked baggage.

In the case of electric shavers and disposable razors, for example, where the blades are permanently embedded in a casting and protected with a protective cover, there is no objection to their transport - in carry-on or checked baggage - simply because they have blades. With electric razors, however, the determining factor is - as with other electrical devices - the power source.

Corded shaver without internal power source

You can carry a corded electric shaver without an internal power source (batteries/battery pack) in both your hand luggage and checked baggage. Be sure to properly protect the parts that are susceptible to damage.

Shaver with internal power source

You may only carry a battery-powered electric shaver in your carry-on baggage. If the design of the shaver allows you to separate the power source from the rest of the appliance (removing the batteries/battery pack), the batteries and battery pack should be packed in your carry-on baggage.
